Chicago 2009

A couple weeks ago, Spencer had a conference to attend in Chicago. We packed up the mini van and met my brother and his wife who flew in from Rexburg. Spencer's old friends from Twin hosted us in Chicagee. They were so nice to let a bunch of strangers cramp their style for a few days. If you every need someone to plan your vacation for you, I know a girl. *wink* Thanks Natalie! Here are some pictures in random order:

First things first: Cupcakes. The pumpkin caramel was our favorite!
Mason and Spencer in "The Bean"

Waiting for the L (elevated train) on our hot date to eat. (We had a convincing babysitter)

This is what we ate!!! (Jackie's Chocolate Bag at the RED LIGHT) A MUST!!!
We took the kids (four boys) to the Children's Museum (free on Thursdays) at Navy Pier. It was so cool!

Downtown stroll. Apparently, the weather was freakishly warm. Meant to be, I say.

The Chicago Zoo (Free). The non-living tractor was the big hit.

Loriann and I in the train. Her first train ride!!

This picture is deceiving. These boys liked each other more at a distance.

This is Aaron. He is a fancy-pants lawyer in downtown Chicago. Spencer is a little cooler for being his buddy.

This is my new friend Natalie. Cool-mommy-trip-planning-stocking-embroidering-fun-loving-extraordinaire.
And a few more pics not needing a caption:

Thanks for your help with the kids, guys. Let's do another destination-reunion again!

Chicago is still my favorite city. Last time was so different because we didn't take any kids. And I was pregnant. But the family version of Chicago was equally memorable. I heard rumors Oprah was moving. I wonder if I will still like Chicago... hmmm.
