The Adventures of the Bead.

It all began last Tuesday. In desperation for something to occupy Grant, I handed him a bag from my Cub Scout kit. It was filled with craft beads for their award trackers that are displayed at Pack Meeting. He liked it. For 2 minutes. (SO not worth the mess)

Wednesday, I left to go run errands. Upon returning home, I was greeted with Spencer saying, "Something traumatic happened to Grant." Apparently, he had found a left-over bead from the day before and stashed it up his nose. He came to Spencer crying, "ow-ie!" and Spencer quickly removed it using one of those miniature screw-drivers. We laughed nervously about it for a while and made mental notes never to give Grant another bead.

Thursday, no bead catastrophes.

Friday, Spencer graciously took Grant with him to Twin Falls to do some bids for blinds. Bids for blinds, bids for blinds, bids for blinds, bids for.... (say that 10 times fast). Low and behold (what does phrase that mean anyway?), I got a call from Spencer explaining that while in the process of changing Grant's diaper, he spotted another bead in the same nostril. (Actually, it was my sis-in-law Becki who convinced Spencer it was "an object" and not something else.)
A quick trip to the ENT doctor (Ear, Nose, and Throat) and the bead was dislodged.
It's not over.

Monday I wanted to take a picture of Grant and The Bead. I did. Spencer and I immediately went to download the picture onto the computer. Seconds later we hear, "Ow-ie!" Oops. Yes, Grant had done it AGAIN! Luckily, he blew it out into a tissue.

All I have to say is, why do I feel like this is only the beginning?

Ha!! So, Dennis stuck a bean up his nose at this age and no one knew. they only knew he stunk, and no one would hold him...suddenly a sprout came and they figured it all out. did it end? nope...another really stinky time in Dennis's life came when he stuck a piece of a sponge in his nose. What's with these guys!? Austin recently stuck a Lucky Charm in his nose...I'm so glad they dissolve and we could get it out easily. Those turkeys! Good note to self about Grant. So funny, and I loved that last pic!

You would think he learned the first time...I guess not. That kind of sounds like my brother.

I'm having flashbacks to Dallin with a red hot up his nose. All I have to say again is--it's not always this hard! You are awesome S&E!
